Solar Impulse Foundation
Bertrand Piccard is the initiator and visionary behind Solar Impulse, the very first airplane capable of flying around the world without fuel. Since 2002, he has been actively promoting clean technologies and energy efficiency as a financially profitable solution to fight climate change.
He made history by accomplishing two firsts in aviation: circumnavigating the globe both in a balloon and a solar-powered airplane.
With his dual identities as medical doctor and explorer, Piccard has become an influential voice heard among the most distinguished institutions across the globe, including the United Nations, the G7, and the World Economic Forum.
Solar Impulse Foundation
Following the success of the Solar Impulse project - the first solar-powered flight around the world - Bertrand Piccard and the Solar Impulse Foundation have launched the second phase of their action: selecting 1000 solutions that can protect the environment in a profitable way, and bringing them to decision makers to help them adopt more ambitious environmental targets and energy policies.
