Hermann Knoflacherstudied civil engineering, mathematics and geodesy. After founding and managing the Institute of Transportation in the Board of Trustees for Traffic Safety and an engineering office, he became professor and director of the Institute for Transportation Planning and Technology at the Vienna University of Technology in 1972 In addition to his planning work for municipalities and federal states, he was an advisor to ministers, the EU Commission and numerous international organisations. His research on the behaviour of people with technical systems has changed the view on transport. More than 500 scientific publications and several specialist books: On the Harmony of City and Traffic / Traffic jams are not a traffic problem / Fundamentals of Traffic and Settlement Planning Volumes 1 and 2. Member of the Presidium of the Club of Vienna and member of international and national scientific associations.
